Trolling

Trolling is when a person has the intent to disrupt a community and provoke its users into an emotional response, and often results in flame wars. The initial goal of any trolling is to achieve lulz, or laughter at someone else's expense. All trolling you do is done simply and purely for the lulz. Targets include pengfags, lulzcows, Christfags, niggers, skript kiddiez, activists, asspies and, of course, you - or any combination of the eight.
Methods
Flaming
Flaming is a very broad term; it covers pretty much everything you could do to piss someone off - cursing, being racist/sexist, contradicting someone's opinion in a rude manner, insulting religion, and just flat-out being a dick. It's the foundation of trolling. When you're flaming, you really want to egg-on the other person's/people's emotions until they completely lose it - that's when you know whether or not you're a successful troll or an obvious troll. Keep these pointers in mind before attempting to flame...
Rules for success
- Making yourself look more intelligent compared to the target should always be, doing so will make them feel inferior to you.
- Never type in caps, unless you are attempting to mock their use of caps. In most cases, when your victim begins
using ALL CAPS, they've lost control of themselves, and you'll have the upper-hand. - Never appear angry or participate in any flame wars between community members, doing so will make them feel like they're winning.
- Disregard your own opinion; you don't have to believe everything you say, as long as it's the opposite of what your victim believes.
- Always post in perfect grammar and spelling; not doing so will give the victim an opening to make of fun of your stupidity.
- Point out the target's spelling and grammar errors; doing this, though, will give you an opening to make fun of their stupidity.
- Point out logic errors in the target's arguments.
- Ignore any sense of troll's remorse.
- Never overfeed; know when to call it quits.
Raiding
Trolling can be used during a raid to generate lulz. Communities where the stupidity factor is rather high are vulnerable as such communities will likely believe anything the original poster says. For efficient distribution of lulz, communication is key, so before, during, and after a raid, get your ass in the IRC. Raids usually consist of DDoS attacks, along with Ruin Life Tactics. Raids can happen on any form of community, whether it be a forum, IRC, xat, blog, or website.
Shocking
Since most of our targets are complete newfags, shocking is one of the greatest trolling methods out there, for trolls of all power levels. You'll need a sense of humor, an empty stomach, and a pair. Unless you yourself are a newfag, you already know that the Internets is one sick motherfucking place. From gore to scat to pr0nz, it has just about everything. Just don't be an unoriginal fucktard and troll solely with goatse and tubgirl. Throw in some Pain Series, Zippocat, HAI2U, or some of the gore archived in ED's Offended collection every now and then.
And there's always the classic, never-failing powah of Last Measure, a shock site that, upon opening, floods your browser with dozens of pop-ups, all of which containing either gore, scat, or pr0nz - or any combination of the three. Some mirrors even contain the original virus, which can do mild to severe damage to your victim's computer, based on their security settings. Along with the gross, never-ending pop-ups and risk of a virus, a looping audio plays in the background of loud sirens and GNAA-members' voices screaming "HEY EVERYBODY, I'M LOOKING AT GAY PORNO." In most cases, the website will crash the victim's browser if they haven't already shit bricks and forced their computer's shut-down, especially if they're using Internet Explorer or older versions of Firefox.
The most common mirror is http://*.on.nimp.org with * being any word, which can lead to lulzy deceptions, i.e. http://clubpenguin.on.nimp.org. Due to the mirror's popularity, its effectiveness has gone down some. However, other mirrors exist, but for the sake of lulz, they won't be listed here, so just fucking lurk moar.
Seasoned trolls use link-shortening services like bit.ly for optimal success in disguising shock links. Tinyurl is discouraged because it, too, has become rather popular on the Internets. Shock videos - not to be confused with shock .gifs - are discouraged as well because the victim doesn't experience instantaneous shock and usually closes out of the video before lulz are achieved.
PsyOps
PsyOps, or "psychological operations," are a moar specific form of flaming where a person evokes their victim's emotions, motives, objective reasoning, and behavior. PsyOps are used during raids to infuriate their victim until they say, do, or confess something they wish they hadn't. PsyOps don't care whether or not the side they are taking conflicts with their own personal opinions or beliefs; as long as they contradict those of their victim's. When a raid is taking place, PysOps crawl their way into the enemy's website, pretending to be one of them, so they don't stand out. The goal is to subtly annoy the enemy while staying within the enemy's guidelines of approval. Consider it as long-term trolling - PysOps have to be willing to be patient for their lulz, which will eventually come in due time.
Spamming
Spamming is something pretty much everyone from your autistic, 7-year-old cousin to your 80-year-old, Viagra-addicted grandfather is aware of. It's simply the flooding of any email, chat, forum, etc. with irrelevant, stupid shit. It's one of the only forms of trolling that rarely requires intelligence to master. Spamming alone is futile as you'll meet the b&hammer most hastily. Spam in large packs of trolls for optimal lulz-harvesting. Bots and mailbombers are great spamming tools.
